How do QR song requests work at a gig?
You start a live session and StageFloww shows a QR code and a link. Put the code on a table tent or on the screen behind you. A guest scans it, searches for a song and taps request. You see the request on the same screen you are reading lyrics from, so there is no second device to watch. Guests enter a name and a phone number. They need no app and no account.
Because a name comes with each request, they are not anonymous. You can see who asked and say so from the stage. The guide to taking song requests at a gig compares a QR code with paper slips, a song menu and a phone number, and lists what to agree before the first set.
How do you set it up?
- Go live. Open the Stage tab, pick tonight's setlist and add the venue name if you want it shown. To take requests without a setlist, use Quick live.
- Show the code. Display it full-screen, or download a poster, table tent or story image as a PNG and print it before the gig.
- Let guests ask. They scan the code or open the link in their phone's browser, then search for the song they want.
- Answer each request. Accept, decline, or add the song to tonight's set. The guest sees the status on their phone.
- Read the recap. After the gig, a recap lists the requests, tips, fees and new followers from that session.
When you add a requested song, it joins the running order in the setlist builder like any other song. If you play with a band, band sync moves each member's screen to it when you advance, as long as their devices have a connection. If you want to leave room for requests, the set length calculator works out how many spare songs fit your slot.
Is this useful for a wedding band?
Yes, for the dance sets. Guests are already holding their phones, the code sits on each table, and a name on the request lets you call out the cousin who asked. It is built for requests during the event. It is not a form for collecting a couple's song choices in the weeks before. The rest of the day is covered in StageFloww for wedding bands.
How do tips and paid requests work in India?
Tips and paid requests pay out in India only. Outside India you can still take free song requests.
The money path, from scan to payout:
- A guest scans the same QR code and chooses to tip, or to pay to boost a request. The default minimum for a paid request is ₹50 and you can change it.
- The guest pays in rupees on their phone. The money is collected in INR.
- The tip or paid request shows in your live session and later in the gig recap, with the fee listed.
- You add an Indian UPI ID or bank account once, then request a payout to it.
There is no payout route outside India, and tips and paid requests are switched off by default there.
What does StageFloww keep?
Requests that carry no money cost nothing on either plan. On Free StageFloww keeps 15% of each tip or paid request; on Pro and during the trial, 0%. The pricing page works out when Pro costs less than the fee.
For how requests fit into a full night with a mixed-phone band, see StageFloww for cover bands.
