What can you type into the search box?
Whatever you remember. The box sits at the top of your setlist and takes a song, a film, a singer or a line from the lyrics.
| What you remember | What to type |
|---|---|
| The title | The title, spelled as well as you can |
| A few words of the lyric | Those words, in English letters, in the order you remember them |
| The film it is from | A description, such as "the sad song from" followed by the film's name |
| Only how the title sounds | A rough spelling. Hindi and other titles written in English letters have no fixed spelling, so type it your way |
| The singer | The singer's name, with or without a word from the title |
Results come back in seconds. Songs already in your own library are shown too. Tap Add and the song joins the running order.
How does it find a song from a description?
Two things happen together. Song search looks across major music catalogues at once. AI search reads what you typed, works out which real song you mean, and puts those matches first.
That is why a description works where a plain title search would not. A guest shouts a film name across the room, you type it the way they said it, and you choose from the songs in that film.
Where the catalogues list them, key, tempo and length are filled in for you. They can come back empty or wrong, so check them before the gig.
Can you type a whole set at once?
Yes, in two places.
- At first sign-in. StageFloww asks "What are you playing next?" Type rough song names, one per line, and it builds a real setlist from them.
- In the builder. Type several names separated by commas and search them together. Tick the results you want and add them in a single step.
Rough names are fine in both. Then drag the songs into order in the setlist builder.
What happens when search misses?
It can. A misheard line, a very new release, a local song or your own original may not come back, and a common phrase can return the wrong song first. When that happens:
- Try the film or the singer instead of the lyric.
- If it is still not there, use Manual add and type the title and artist yourself.
Search needs a connection. Without signal it does not run, and you can only pick from songs already in your library. Do your searching at home or at soundcheck, not between songs in a basement venue.
Does finding the song also give you the lyrics?
Not always. The dependable route is to paste your own lyrics into the song. StageFloww can also fetch lyrics where they are available, and not every song has lyrics available. A fetched lyric may differ from the version you sing, so read it through.
If the lyrics arrive in a script you do not read, the English-letter view respells them. For the workflow built around film songs and rough spellings, see StageFloww for Bollywood bands.
